First off Exteel reminds me of GunZ: The Duel, and I hate that game. Second Off, I like Exteel. It\'s very promising. With a slew of game modes, very customizable characters, and a pretty large arsenal, I suggest any fan of FPS/TPS gives it a try.Game Modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Territory Control, Last Stand, and Capture the Flag. Deathmatch is where you can be as greedy as you want and kill anyone you want. Team Deathmatch you want to work together as a team to get the victory. Territory Control is two teams in a struggle to control territories on the map, a lot like king of the hill in a sense. In Last Stand mode you and a team of players such as yourself have to keep an onslaught of CPU players from taking over your base. And capture the flag is two teams against one another to capture the other teams flags before the time runs out. The maps are pretty cool, cities, space ships, and everything in between. I counted 14 maps. The character models are big mechnaughts (mech for short) which you can customize your self completely, you can change the parts (example: torso, helmet, legs, arms, booster) and the color of each piece. You can have two weapon sets which you set pre-game in the “garage” before you even join the lobby. There are all sorts of weapons: Pistols, SMGs, Rifles, Swords, Shotguns, Spears, Sniper Rifles, and last but definitely not least.... Rockets. You can dual wield them all, except Sniper Rifles, and Rockets. You can also have a shield, kind of like a SWAT team would carry. The game also has a level and rank system. You gain points when you play the game. These points count toward your level and rank. It also boasts an in game store, where you can buy your weapons, and chassis parts. You can buy N Coin to get weapons you cannot get any other way than to put forth money from your own pockets to get special equipment, and weapons. This doesn\'t affect any of the game play. Now onto the game play. This game is fast paced, not because you run fast, but because your a mech, and you can boost yourself forward with your booster. Depending on who your fighting and what gun you have, kills come by pretty easy. The game also has a clan system. You can form a clan and battle another clan online in another gameplay mode with the very clever name of “Clan Battle”. I found that most people online have a melee weapon equipped to at least one weapon set. This does a lot of damage if your really close. But I\'m old school so I like to use a shotgun with a shield. The graphics are great, especially for a free game. This game is made by NC Soft who also gave you the RPGs Guild Wars, and another free title called Dungeon Runners. So it\'s pretty solid. I didn\'t complain when I got killed, hardly any lag. The only dislike I have is that someone can buy better weapons. Although I know you can\'t buy skill, that to me just isn\'t right, but they have to make their money somehow, and it is free. All in all it\'s a great game that you should definitely try. What do you have to lose? Some bandwidth? Your probably already using it to DL pirated software anyways... So be legal and DL this game. |
